Project Description
Built for one of New England’s largest independent appliance retailers, this WordPress site runs on Divi and custom-coded integrations to handle up to 50,000 products. With full WooCommerce functionality and optimized search/catalog features, it delivers a reliable, scalable storefront experience for appliance shoppers across Vermont, New Hampshire, and beyond.
THE STORY
Cocoplum Appliances—established in Brattleboro, VT in 1985, with locations in Keene, NH (540 Main St, Keene, NH 03431) and Essex Junction, VT (27 Park St, Ste 1B, Essex Junction, VT 05452)—required a custom-tailored, high-capacity e-commerce solution. They needed a system capable of efficiently managing extensive inventory, smooth filtering, and fast performance—while faithfully rendering their complex Figma-based designs.
OUR APPROACH
- WordPress with Divi: Implemented the full Figma design into Divi templates, ensuring consistency and scalability.
- Custom Coding: Enhanced Divi with bespoke PHP, JS, and CSS to support bulk product management, dynamic filtering, and custom product layouts.
- WooCommerce Architecture: Configured WooCommerce to handle large datasets efficiently, including category hierarchy, bulk imports, and optimized search queries.
- Performance Optimization: Minified assets, optimized image compression, and implemented smart caching layers to improve load times across thousands of product pages.
- Scalable Catalog Design: Set up category and product templates to support variations, technical specs, and brand filters—streamlined for performance at scale.
- Mobile & Cross-Browser Compatibility: Ensured that heavy-product pages deliver clean, responsive UI across major browsers and device types.
